Mr. Nabil Moukarzel, Executive Chairman of the Finatrade Group of Companies has called on government to institute measures that would continue to create a congenial environment for the development and growth of business in Ghana.

“I am sure like any other business in the country, we look forward for economic and political stability, an open and transparent dialogue with government and its institutions, and a conducive environment for economic growth.”

Mr Moukarzel made the call during an annual get-together organised by three subsidiaries of the company for their clients and business partners throughout the country.

The subsidiary companies, which are among the 10 top businesses in the country are; Sucatrade, CCTC and Market Direct, engaged in manufacturing, distribution and importation of goods and services.

The Executive Chairman said apart from employing 2,000 persons in the country, ‘Akuafo Adamfo’ one of the company’s subsidiaries was the second largest buyer of Ghana’s cocoa apart from government.

He said his outfit had always kept the best standards of business and would continue to exhibit the highest standards…to remain the ambassador of business in the West African sub-region. “We will continue to cooperate with government institutions to provide the best products to the Ghanaian consumer,” he said.

Ms Joyce Aryee, Chairperson of Finatrade Foundation said the social responsibility component of the Group of Companies had over the years supported 20 Agriculture students from the University of Ghana (UG), Legon, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, University of Cape Coast and University for Development Studies, Tamale campus, which had helped in raising food production levels.

She said the foundation had also established demonstration farms in the KNUST and the UG, and would soon extend such facilities to other public universities to empower agriculture students practically to step up food production.

Ms Aryee said such training programmes would help most students to become lecturers and agricultural business personnel throughout the country.
