Jorbies Limited, an indigenous savings and loans company on Saturday opened its Headquarters office complex at Kaneshie in Accra, to better position it to serve the needs of its over 2000 clients.

Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, 2008 Presidential Candidate of the Convention People's Party, assisted by Mr Jordan Larbie, Executive Director, Jorbies Limited, cut the tape to officially inaugurate the headquarters while prayers were said to dedicate it to the service of clients.

Mr Larbie said having operated from a small "chamber and hall" office since August 2008, after it was incorporated in August 2008 as fully-Ghanaian owned limited liability company, he considers today's inauguration of an office complex fitted with the state-of-the-art facility, as a success story consolidating its grips on the microfinance sector.

Jorbies also specialises in funds and investment management, building and real estate development and transportation.

He said Jorbies entered the microfinance industry to satisfy the needs of the large number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that dotted all across the country and which failed to attract the attention that "big" companies enjoyed from the banks.

"That is why we are inaugurating our Headquarters at Kaneshie, a town which is almost synonymous with SMEs in the country" he said.

He said the company had designed various products namely Fast Loans, to solve urgent financial and business needs of clients, savings loans on flexible payment rates among others to address specific needs of players in the SMEs sector to enable them to expand their businesses.

"Low income earners such as drivers in unionized organizations, chop bar operators, petty traders among others are beneficiaries to some of our products" Mr Larbie said.

Mr Larbie said under its transportation and real estate development packages, the company had been assisting drivers with loans to purchase vehicles and pay on monthly basis and also help those interested in acquiring homes to contribute up to GHc 100 to acquire two-bedroom houses at Jorley Estate in Kasoa.

He said the company also periodically trained its staff to enable them to offer efficient services as well as keep proper records of clients, assuring that "with Jorbies Limited your contributions are safe".

He urged existing and potential customers to do business with the company.

Professor John Bright Aheto, Dean of School of Business, Central University College, who chaired the function, called on the company to pay attention to proper risk management and effectively identify the problems of clients and also design policies to address them for the benefit of all.

Professor Aheto urged the company to take lessons from the changing trends of doing business and develop strategic products and plans that would withstand the stiff competition in the industry.

He called on the staff not to only remain dedicated to duty but to be also smart in their actions to propel the company to greater heights.

Dr Nduom congratulated the company for its success within the last two years, which were turbulent periods for businesses across the globe.

He urged the company to sustain the enthusiasm to enable it to overcome obstacles that might come its way.
