The newly-packaged Frytol, one of Unilever’s cooking oil, is expected to hit the market soon with some new features and a refreshing taste that will leave indelible memories on the minds of consumers.

Wilmar Africa Limited, the Asian agribusiness giant, which took over Unilever’s edible oil refinery and Ghana’s heritage brand – Frytol in the middle of last year via the acquisition of Benso Oil Palm Plantation, made this known.

Wilmar continued that Frytol has been around for years and is still the brand with the highest equity and awareness considering its heritage.

Fatima Ali Mohamed, General Manager of Wilmar Africa, commenting on the re-packaged Frytol said: “Frytol is a very strong brand that has woven itself around families for generations. Someone’s grandmother used it, someone’s mother used it and today someone’s daughter is using it. It was at the heart of every meal and brought families together giving it a very powerful value then which still remains today.”

She further added: “We have taken the brand to another level by refreshing its look through a new packaging to appeal to today’s woman who has progressed with modern times. The new Frytol campaign shows that the values our mothers instilled in us are the same values that we still carry through today and we continue to care for our families using these same values.”

The new Frytol campaigns, she noted, have been noted to break the traditional monotony of culinary advertising in Ghana, bringing out a unique freshness, positive values and emotions.

Ms Mohamed thanked Unilever’s distributors for making Frytol available on the market, noting, “We thank the consumers for having faith in Frytol. We assure them that soon it shall be available at every doorstep.”
