Ghana’s transport sector is set to be transformed with the commencement of modern transport service between Tema and Kumasi and Tema and Takoradi.

Diplomats Transport Company Limited, the newly out-doored shuttle service on the market, yesterday launched its services onto the Ghanaian market.

It also outdoored four brand new 2011-model KIA GrandBird (limousine) buses, promising to provide unrivalled services to commuters. With Diplomats boldly inscribed on the sides of the long red limousines, passengers are assured of safe journeys via land.

Samuel Incoom, Managing Director of Diplomats Transport Limited, who spoke to CITY & BUSINESS GUIDE in an interview yesterday, said the buses, which are fully air-conditioned, have spacious leg rooms and adjustable backrests, in addition to a mini refrigerator, which will provide chilled water to passengers upon request.

Also, passengers aboard the limousines can watch various types of movies, tune in to all the television stations in Ghana and enjoy good music or listen to good music.

Mr Incoom noted that by the end of this year about 10 more buses are expected to beef up the fleet of Diplomats Transport Company, whose drivers are all professionally trained.

“Unlike some transport companies whose drivers often take the lives of their passengers for granted and engage in unnecessary speeding which often lead to fatal accidents, drivers of Diplomats are professionals who have been trained for so many years. They have also been introduced to some Swiss public transport safety precautions and therefore value the lives of passengers,” Mr Incoom noted.

He therefore urged members of the public to patronize the services of Diplomats for the best of busing services over long distances, adding, “The lives of passengers would be well taken of while on board the limousines.

“With Diplomats, the passenger does not have to worry about anything. All they have to do is watch movies, sleep, read their newspapers or story books, chat or enjoy their ride majestically.”
