The Brong Ahafo Regional Director of the Ghana Revenue Authority in charge of Direct Tax, Sekyere Baah-Nuakoh, has expressed concern about the low rate of voluntary tax compliance in the region.
The practice, he said is one of the major challenges impeding revenue maximisation to facilitate national development.
Mr Baah-Nuakoh noted that tax payers only voluntarily obey their tax obligations when they are in dire need of tax clearance certificate.
He made these observations during a sensitization forum for tax payers in Sunyani.
