Dr Lawrence Tetteh, Founder/President of the UK-based Worldwide Miracle Outreach, on Friday asked authorities of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to streamline the body to meet the expectations of clients.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency at the annual thanksgiving service organised by SSNIT Christian Fellowship in Accra, he said it should be possible for the trust to create the platform for pensioners to start enjoying their pension the very day they retire.

Addressing the function on the theme: “Celebrating the goodness of the Lord,” he said a nation that takes care of pensioners, persons with disability and the vulnerable in the society eventually becomes great.

Dr Tetteh, an Economist and Chaplain of UK and Ireland Christian Council of Ghana, asked the management and staff of SSNIT to adopt innovative ways to improve on pension.

He said it is the collective responsibility of Ghanaians to build a nation that is anchored in non-partisan approach to national issues and forging of consensus and peace building.

Dr Tetteh said Ghanaians are killing the nation prematurely through the overly partisan approach to every national issue and must therefore learn to bury their differences.

Basing his sermon on: “The Dangers of Offences,” he said whoever drowns himself in the habit loses his or her respect, self dignity, personality and is likely to forfeit what he or she had laboured for.

Dr Tetteh said the risk of offences “are the traps of the enemy and could lead one to fall sick or suffer untimely death”. Reverend Daniel Ankrah President of the fellowship, said 2013 was a good year but also came with challenges for SSNIT.

He asked the personnel to seek for God’s guidance for the year and their war cry should be “hard work and dedication to service”.

Mr Ernest Thompson, SSNIT Director General admonished the staff to seek the face of the Lord in all their undertakings, since “there is power in prayer”.
