Ghana has cancelled its participation in international trade fairs in Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Cote dIvoire as a result of the deadly Ebola disease.
This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Exports Promotion Authority, Gideon Quarcoo.
Without a doubt, this will impact the NTE results for 2014, Mr Quarcoo said at this years National Awards for Export Achievement held over the weekend.
The non-traditional export (NTE) is an arm under the Ministry of Trades and Industry.
The Ebola virus, which has left in its wake over 4,500 deaths so far, has forced the cancellation of most international gatherings and conferences in West Africa.
International airline companies have also halted flights to the three hardest hit countries.
This, the World Health Organisation predicts, will affect the economy of the countries.
