Tullow Ghana Limited has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) worth 280,500 Euros to the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service.

According to the Managing Director (MD) of Tullow, Charles Darku who did the presentation, the country still need to be in a solid state of preparedness to manage the Ebola outbreak.

And, “as a company, we know Ebola outbreak in Ghana would impact the oil and gas industry in Ghana particularly hard in many ways. A single case of Ebola on an offshore installation could lead to very rapid spread due to the technical design of the offshore installation.”

For this reason Tullow Ghana Limited wants to take the first step in getting ready for a possible outbreak and has procured 10,000 sets of PPEs valued at 280,500 Euros to be distributed to the Ministry of Health as well as selected hospitals in the country.

On hand to receive the items, the deputy Minister of Health Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe commended Tullow Ghana Limited for their “sense of forward thinking”.

To him, this gesture falls in line with the of the Ministry’s plan to deal with a possible outbreak of Ebola by preparing adequately.

1. Coveralls 10,000
2. Dust masks/respirators 500
3. Safety goggles (direct vent) 5,000
