Incumbent General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has publicly endorsed the re-election bid of the party’s National Organiser Yaw Boateng Gyan.

“He has my support,” General Mosquito said on Asempa FM on Thursday December 18, 2014.

Boateng Gyan’s main contender in the race for the national organiser position in the forthcoming national delegates’ congress scheduled for Kumasi on December 20, 2014 is Kofi Adams, Spokesperson for NDC founder Jerry Rawlings.

There is no love lost between Asiedu Nketia and Kofi Adams, and Mosquito has not hidden his desire for the delegates to elect people who are loyal to the NDC.

In a subtle spite of Adams, he warned party delegates not vote for candidates who wine and dine with opposition members after elections.

A voice suspected to be that of Adams was heard on a secret tape unearthed a few years ago, conspiring with opposition elements against President John Mills (late).

Adams has, however, always insisted on his innocence and said he never betrayed the party as alleged against him.

Asked if supporting Boateng Gyan meant he does not support Kofi Adams, Asiedu Nketia said he could support only one candidate.
