As part of measures to promote culture, tourism and cordial relationship between Ghana and France, the France Embassy in Ghana is set to stage ‘Gout de France/Good France’ event in Accra.

The event, which is scheduled to take place on March 21, 2016, is the second of its kind in the country.

About 150 countries across the globe, restaurant and embassies are expected to offer 1,500 dinners to celebrate France’s gastronomy listed by the UNESCO as a world Heritage.

Representatives and chefs of participating restaurants from Ghana are expected to share their take on French cuisine and the menu.

Participating restaurants and hotels include The Royal Senchi in Akosombo, Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, and PROTEA HOTEL.

The first edition in last year saw only a hotel participating in the event, but this year’s event has registered ten restaurants from Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi and Akosombo.

Speaking at a press conference to launch the event, the France Ambassador to Ghana, Francois Pujolas explained that the event will afford the two countries the opportunity to learn from each other in the areas of hospitality management, tourism, among others.

He said France is ready to work with corporate bodies in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Mr. Pujolas in an interview with Onua News said Ghanaians are suffering from various ailments but through good cooking and eating habits, Ghanaians can grow longer than they do now.

He said Ghana has so many tourism and hospitality potentials that can be tapped by France vice versa.

The Ambassador said what they want to do is to find partners in France who are interested to come to Ghana, and that will help the Ghanaian economy, especially the hospitality and tourism industries.
