OPINION: Who Born Dog?

Truth needs no crutches, if it limps; It is a lie and nothing else. Who born you Abusuapanin? Abi inobi your sweet mother wey born you? If so, then who born dog? Im sure you would say mother born am, but Im afraid that would be very wrong because the response implies that you do not know the meaning of the expression.

Who born dog is an expression in the Asomdwekromanian street parlance, which means who will dare to try? In one of his numerous outbursts on the mediocre performance by the Agya Ofuntuo-led government at his Ridge residence recently, ex-President Dr. Jerry Boom aka Papa Jay, used the expression to bemoan the lack of discipline by some political appointees and wondered why ministers who are so undisciplined under Agya Ofuntuo could not dare to do so during his tenure.

Of course, Papa Jay was a very strong leader who did not tolerate any nonsense. If he could convert his own Vice-President into a punching bag at a cabinet meeting, then you can imagine what his ministers went through.

It is therefore understandable that he lambasted Ludwig Hlordze, the Zu-za Youth Organizer. He was repulsed by the inaction of his chosen successor towards the second-rate performance and chop-chop syndrome of some Zu-za political appointees.

But isnt it ironic that his no-nonsense disciplinary style did not deter his appointees from engaging in the chop-chop syndrome? Do you remember the Mabey and Johnson (M&J) scandal?

As usual, his outburst attracted a lot of hue and cry in both the print and electronic media. Only this time, an apologist of the party, Alhaji Iddrisu Bature was brave enough to tell the ex-President to stop throwing stones since he was living in a glass house.

In other words, Alhaji threatened to expose Papa Jays iniquities if he continued making the ugly noises. He also admonished the ex-President to stop his unwarranted attacks on the President or attract Onyankopons wrath upon himself.

Although the ex-Presidents camp has since challenged Alhaji to make good his threat, which is yet to come, I still could not believe that those words were uttered by Alhaji Bature.

Hmm, was it not this same Alhaji who recently described Papa Jay as a saint and referred to Don Barima JAK as devil incarnate? Do you think any person with his brains tightly screwed to the skull would believe anything he says again? Kweh, onipa ye dangerous!

In the meanwhile, those of us watching the feud between Alhaji and Papa Jay from the sidelines eagerly wait to see the outcome. And all we can do is shout, saa yoo, onukpa be dzen lo? (There is a fight going on and are the elders not there?)

A few days after Alhaji Bature warned of a curse, fire gutted the residence of the ex-President. To the superstitious minds, Alhajis prophecy had come to pass.

The belief was given a boost when a known fetish priest, Kwaku Bonsam claimed that he had foreseen the disaster and had called Papa Jays wife three clear days before the catastrophic incident but the former first lady was too busy to listen to him.

Well, superstition or not, it was a very devastating loss for Asomdwekrom. Im therefore using this opportunity to add my voice to the many that have sent their heartfelt commiserations to the former first family.

I know for sure that Papa Jay is a very strong man so he would not allow this unfortunate incident to stop him from giving us more boom speeches.

Indeed, Papa Jay is an enigma and does not cease to amaze me and most Asomdwekromanians for that matter. Where and how he gets his words is still a mystery. Not too long ago, it was mediocre ministers, then greedy bastards and Atta the mortuary man and now it is who born dog?

Lest I forget, the word impotent also reared its ugly head at the recent meeting. Yes, you heard right! Papa Jay was alleged to have accused the current President of being impotent.

I must admit that I only listened to excerpts of the 32-minute recording so I cant say for sure what he meant. But those who listened to the full tape claimed the word was used literally and not metaphorically.Even Dr. Asem Fofro, a stick-in-the-mud member of the Zu-za party has also confirmed the story.

Kai! God forbid! If it is true that Agya Ofuntuos langa-langa does not nod its head at the sight of that, which led to Adams downfall, then he is indeed losing a lot.

But there is hope. Mr. President should try ADOM KOKOO and YAFO MAN POWER capsules for only one moon and I promise that the cry of the damsel to face the wrath of your langa-langa would be WOW, WHO BORN DOG? I hope to see you next week for another interesting nkomo.

Ciao!
