The lawlessness of NPP leaders including the unruly Minority Leader in Ghanas Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, the shameless party chairman, Peter Mac Manu, on Friday, over a Court order to remand irresponsible NPP radio commentator, Nana Darkwa, for two weeks for committing a criminal offence by calling former President Rawlings arsonist sent NDC leaders trembling.

So frightening were the NDC leaders that while some were issuing panic statements to condemn the Court order, others chose to keep mute over the indiscipline behaviour of the NPP supporters at the courtyard.

President John Evans Atta Mills, in a terrifying reaction, issued a statement to condemn the order that sent indecent NPP chap to remand for making nicotinic remarks against former President Rawlings.

In the statement, President Mills reiterate his undoubted commitment to the rule of law, respect for separation of powers of the Judiciary and the right of Ghanaians to free expression and his adherence to good governance.

The statement which was issued on Friday and signed by the Deputy Minister for Information, James Agyenim-Boateng, said President Mills in assuring the citizenry of his unflinching respect for the rule of law and the principles of separation of powers and the independence of the Judiciary, stressed the need for a balance between responsible citizenship and the right to free expression.

The statement by the President was completely needless and show a mark of betrayal to the majority of Ghanaians, who had campaigned and voted him into power. The President statement had collaborated the dirty Minority in Parliament, who had used the powers of the Legislature to interfere in the works of the Judiciary. Indeed, it has put the officers of the two institutions into unnecessary public ridicule.

The timid reactions of the NDC leaders have turned the Police Service and the Judiciary that were dutifully carrying out their responsibility to restore discipline and order in the society into chewing sticks for the NPP to do their own things.

It will be very difficult for courageous men and women of these two state institutions to forget this underserved embarrassment the NDC leaders have heaped on them. It has become an indelible ink which is difficult to erase. Clearly, President Mills, the leader of the NDC and the NDC Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei have made the Judge and Regional Commander of the Greater Accra, Rose Atingabio targets of these animalistic NPP leaders.

Undoubtedly, it is becoming clear that the NDC leaders are disappointingly weak and timid. They fear to take on these silly and thievery members of this criminal party called NPP just because they will call them violent people.

Anytime, leaders of gangsters of the NPP roar, it is always a pity seeing NDC leaders looking for space to hide. The NDC supporters live like orphans. They have no parents, no leaders to protect them in time of need. While the NPP leaders are proactive to plights of their supporters, the NDC leaders are retroactive to their supporters.

It is interesting to note that while supporters of the NDC protect the interest and lives of their leaders, the NPP leaders seek to protect their supporters because they respect their contributions in the party.
