The NDC Amsterdam Branch along with its research partners met to declare emphatically that Ghana does not have the infrastructural-readiness to implement Free Education at any level of the Ghanaian educational system.
Speaking to members of the NDC Amsterdam Branch and Ghanaian sympathizers in the Netherlands, the NDC Executives highlighted the following facts:
1. Ghana's Educational system ought to be reviewed and revised qua curriculum before any policy maker attempts to deliver it for free.
2. Ghana National Association of Teachers ( GNAT) 's Code of Conduct has to be reviewed, revised and its implementation secured before any policy maker talks about free education.
3. Intellectual Property in Ghana is not adhered to and no proper accreditation given to the Ghanaian intellect, hence a proper Public Awareness instrument has to be designed and implemented to ensure that the millions of Ghanaians that have been robbed of their Intellectual Capital by some politicians as well as policy-makers would be honored and valued.
The Interim Chairman of the NDC Amsterdam branch Mr. A. Dodoo elaborated on the fact that Education is indeed the key towards a positive and enlightened social change. However, it is clear that all the relevant numeration has to be duly adhered to before any talk about free Education is uttered. Any politician that has cunningly figured out that GHANAIAN LIKE FREE EVERYTHING and therefore tags on a very important element of our social fabric (which is Education) to score ballot points, by claiming he can implement free education is more of a practical joke on the Intelligence of the Ghanaian populace.
Ghana Education Service he went on to say are custodians of our Educational system have themselves been franchised under the current system, and the huge challenges facing the GES as a body is not been addressed. Ghana as a nation, notably has very poor educational standards within the Public or Government school sectors, which gave birth to the rise of Private School Education in Ghana. Today many parents want to have their children or wards attend "good" schools many of which are privately-owned schools, so the question this raises each time you hear the NPP hype of free Education , is the Hype of the so called free SHS a ploy to enrich owners of NPP-run private schools?
Mr F. Morgan also an Interim Executive of the NDC Amsterdam branch rhetorated that the Npp Hype is only because they have smartly figured out that most Ghanaians like to get things for nothing, without breaking a sweat, hence it sounds plausible that the NPP intentionally want to pull on fast on the well-meaning Ghanaians who genuinely do not know the true dynamics of how free education can be implemented in our country. He stated that in collaboration with the research body , it became clear that in Europe , Germany was the only country that offered free education from Primary to University level to its citizens as well as international students, until 2005 when some German states reviewed that policy and started charging International students .Momentarily, University level education is free in some schools in Austria, Finland , Norway and Sweden, and it is fair to lament on the fact that these countries are NOT developing countries but DEVELOPED countries, so Ghana which is a DEVELOPING country should focus on developing structures that can enable our future children enjoy from a system we have built and that works. The NPP hype, must be discarded by the voters.
NDC Amsterdam Branch is honored to also announce its readiness to join the on-going campaign team of H.E. John Dramani Mahama in the final leg of the campaign for the month of November 2012. After the deliberations with the hundreds of NDC diasporans and members of the public across Europe, it became clear that NDC European strongholds has a formidable team that can catalyst the victory of NDC at the December 7th 2012 elections. Reality is that the Founder's message hits home hard, and that all NDC members should stand together and condemn corruption at the highest level within Party and Government officials. The Interim vice, Nana Takyi Blankson, said this year's elections must be one that can flush out all these corrupt individuals that do not make life easy for those that truly hold the interest of Ghana at heart and working tirelessly to ensure that Ghana develops institutions that can implement structures to protect our collective development and welfare as a people.
The NPP HYPE is nothing but a clever way steal the rights of Voters, by NPP refusing to put the horse in front of the cart, because their SHS hype is the CART and to have that cart moved from the drawing board to its implementation stage should be looked at by all Ghanaians, so that no one is able to pull a fast SAKAWA on any Ghanaian and certainly not an NPP politician.
Ghanaians must pause and listen closely between the lines and understand that Ghana does not have what it takes to offer free SHS at this stage and be mindful of that fact that without improving the Educational system in the country, it would only enrich the PRIVATE SCHOOLS that NPP followers own, while they watch the government schools to rot. NDC leadership must create a focus point that would revise all public schools, as well as dialogue with the Ghana National Association of Teachers to develop a better and enhanced educational system that addresses modern day challenges facing our Nation and the world at large.
God bless Ghana. Ey3 Zu !!
