A concerned parent, Emmanuel Mensah Dotsi has expressed worry over the arbitrary increase in BECE registration, mock examination fees and other fees by some Senior and Junior High Schools.
In an interview with Radio Ghana, Mr Dotsi called on the Ghana Education Service to intervene and stop such heads of schools from violating the guidelines on fees.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Coalition of Parents of Private Students, Dr Simon Gbene has appealed to owners and managers of private schools to consider the economic plight of parents before increasing school fees.
In his Christmas message, Dr Gbene said once the schools are breaking even, there is no need to add more to over-burden parents.
