A group known as the Concerned Health Workers of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital is calling for the head of the embattled Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Professor Otu Nartey.
The group is also backing the Health Minister, Hon. Alban Bagbin�s proposal for the dissolution of the hospital�s board.
The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Board has for sometime been saddled with several cases of internal wrangling.
�We want the President to dissolve the board as soon as possible,� Anthony Kpammah, a spokesperson for the group told Citi News. �Over the years they have not done anything significant that we can identify with. All this incompetence is under the CEO�s watch and so we want him sacked.�
Meanwhile, the President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Kwabena Adusei Poku has told Citi News, he supports the minister�s proposal for the dissolution of the board of Korle-Bu.
�If the minister of health himself has gone there and he believes that the board is not working to the satisfaction of government, it is then up to the State to decide what is best for the hospital,� he said.
Dr. Adusei Poku opined that since Korle-Bu was Ghana�s premiere hospital, its interests superseded all other matters.
