Medical doctors at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital on Monday were tight-lipped as to whether they were working or not over the doctors nationwide strike action that has entered its third week.
A visit to the hospital by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) showed that the few patients who had called at the Out-Patient Department (OPD) in the morning were not attended to.
Most nurses and the paramedical staff refused to talk to the GNA upon request as a Senior Medical Officer referred the GNA to higher authorities.
On the contrary, there were normal activities at the Takoradi Hospital as most patients told the GNA that they had been attended to by medical doctors and nurses..
