The Ministry of Health has asked Suweiba Abdul Mumin to go to court if she is displeased about the Ministry’s efforts to investigate how her baby went missing at the Komfo Anokye Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
Speaking on JoyNews’ “News Desk” on Multi TV, Public Relations officer of the Ministry of Health, Tony Goodman, said it is not in the Ministry’s place to search for the baby.
Regrettably, he said investigations conducted did not reveal the whereabouts of the missing baby, and Suweiba should perhaps come to terms with that.
Mr. Goodman advised Suweiba to further pursue the matter if she is dissatisfied with the results of the investigations carried out by the Ministry and the various councils set up to investigate the matter.
“If she feels that what was done is not the best, she can go to an appropriate institution to seek justice,” he advised.
He said the Ministry’s work ended after it issued the report on the investigations, adding that there is nothing more it can do about it. Mr. Goodman insisted that the Ministry has nothing to hide in this matter.
A disheartened Suweiba is very disappointed the matter has been abandoned by the Ministry after several pledges were made to her.
She however thanked her sympathisers and expressed disappointment in leaders who pledged their support to her.
“The leaders have failed me. They feigned helping me but they abandoned the case half way. If my baby died, his body should be produced,” she insisted.
