The Daily Graphic newspaper on Wednesday, August 12th, published that facilities at the nations premier military and the Police hospitals are being overstretched due to the strike action by public sector doctors.
For this reason Peace FMs Naana Ntiri visited the 37 Military Hospital to assess the situation and file a report on the issue.
During the stations midday news bulletin, she spoke to Lt Col. Oku, an administrator at the hospital, who called on the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to assist them with materials that can help cater for the overcrowded patients that have trooped in for treatment.
Patients were seen sleeping on the hospitals' bench whilst undergoing intravenous therapy. And some mothers were also spotted sleeping on mattresses placed on the bare floor.
Management of the 37 Military Hospital, were particularly concerned with the well-being of pregnant women at the facility who must go through caesarean sessions and those who had undergone the operation already.
