21st Clinic – a highly qualified and expert’s team of healthcare avenue has added to its many branches across the country a specialist Sciatica Research and Treatment Centre fully equipped with modern facilities to provide complete healthcare assistance to patients.

The facility which was inaugurated at East Lagon, American House in Accra will provide advanced research and treatment that influences policy direction and program implementation to improve the well-being and reduce ill health in Ghana and globally.

The facility was inaugurated last Sunday, November 21, 2021, at a beautiful ceremony that became the first of its kind in the whole of Africa.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 21st Clinic, Dr Blessed Foster explained that, the reason for the Sciatica Research and Treatment Centre establishment is to “delve into the canker of sciatica affecting the populace” and find a lasting solution to it.

According to him, the centre will offer a unique avenue for the conduct of sciatica research and treatment to prevent the further spread of sciatica issues in its total elimination in the foreseeable future.

He revealed the facility would not only “serve as a research and treatment but as a referral centre for other health facilities as well as global health bodies for intensive studies on sciatica” adding that the centre would “lead to a better health, better care and better lives” for all clients.

“21st clinic has rapidly evolved during the past six years of its inception and it has changed the way health care is currently delivered. Sciatica Research and Treatment Centre offers a uniquely unique platform for the conduct of sciatica research and treatment that influences policy direction and program implementation to improve well-being and reduce ill health in Ghana and globally. The rationale of this establishment of Sciatica Research and Treatment Centre is to delve deeply into this canker of sciatica affecting the populace and the world as a whole to help in its total elimination in the foreseeable future.”

He added, “The clinic morbidity report from our health management systems (HMS) from the period under review January 2020 – 31st December 2020 depicts that a total of twenty-six thousand, eight hundred and eighty (26, 880) accounted for the total reported cases. Out of these incidences, eighteen thousand, eight hundred and sixteen (18, 816) patients reported with Sciatica representing 70% of the total cases for the year 2020. The total recovery events of sciatica was sixteen thousand, five hundred and fifty-eight (16, 558) representing 88%. This establishment is not only going to serve as a research and treatment but as a referral Centre for other health facilities as well as global health bodies for intensive studies on Sciatica”.

Dr Blessed Foster further used the opportunity to express appreciation to the hardworking staff members he described as the backbone to the amazing edifice and opportunities shining upon the clinic.

“Permit me to thank all the stakeholders of which the key of them are my competent staffs from the top and level to the lower level who through their immense contribution and creativity has made us a whole today. At 21st clinic, we have always believed in the cardinal principle of proverbs 14:23 which says “in all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty. We have always believed in hard work and here we are today and strategically perceive the future to be bright and fruitful.”
