The Goaso Magistrate Court has remanded into prison custody a 38-year-old farmer for allegedly shooting to death his brother at Santaso, near Kassapin in Asunafo North Municipality.
The plea of Kwasi Appiah was not taken and will reappear on November 17.
Police Chief Inspector Charles Arthur said the suspect and the deceased, Charles Kofi, stayed in the same house at Santaso, a farming community.
On October 13 the suspect took a jeans trousers belonging to Kofi and got it torn in the course of wearing it.
Chief Inspector Arthur said the deceased demanded GHC 15 being the cost of the jeans dress but Appiah offered GHC 13, which the deceased rejected and this led to a scuffle between them.
The prosecutor said a senior brother of the two, Solomon Abei intervened and separated them and the suspect went into his room and locked it.
Chief Inspector Arthur said Kofi not satisfied took a cutlass and forcibly broke into Appiah's room and the latter who had already loaded his single barrelled gun fired and killed the deceased instantly.
A report was made to the police and the suspect was arrested.
