The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Kwesi Ahwoi, says all is set for this years National Farmers Day celebration on Friday at Abokobi in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
At a media briefing on preparations made so far towards the day, Mr Ahwoi indicated that the ministry has so far received cash donations and items from seventy-six organisations in support of the celebration.
Seventy-four hard working farmers and fishermen will be decorated for their outstanding contribution to the economy at this year's National Farmers Day.
Since the inception of the day in 1985- about 1,500 farmers have received awards for their outstanding contributions to the bread basket of this predominantly agriculture- driven country.
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture informs the general public that the day is not a public holiday.
