The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and the Bureau of Indian Authority, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to enhance and strengthen technical cooperation in standardization and conformity assessment between the two bodies.
The areas covered by the MOU also include product and management systems certification, testing facilities, technical information, training and financing.
Madam Hanna Tetteh, then caretaker Minister for Trade and Industry (MOTI), signed on behalf of the GSA while Rajinder Bhagat, High Commissioner of India in Ghana, signed for the Bureau of Indian Standards, in Accra.
Madam Tetteh said over the last ten years, the Government of government has been making efforts to upgrade laboratories in Ghana to meet the required standards.
She expressed hope that the collaboration between the two bodies would help the GSA to improve its services to the public.
