Gender and Human Rights Activists say though Ghana is a signatory to a number of conventions and charters on the empowerment of women and marginalised groups, not much has been done to reflect the situation.
At a forum organised by the Media Foundation for West Africa to mark the AU Democracy Day in Accra, it was agreed that the time is now for policy makers to go beyond signatories to implementations.
This would address the challenges faced by marginalised people and close the gabs of low women participation at decision making levels.
