The ECOWAS Parliament is seeking a boost in its mandate in order to propel the integration drive within the sub region.
The enhancement of its mandate will also make the monitoring of budget execution of programmes an essential activity.
This point came out strongly as the Committee on Administration, Finance and Budget Control of the ECOWAS Parliament rounded up its meeting in Accra.
The forum focused on the external auditors role in the Parliaments monitoring of its accounts.
Radio Ghana caught up with the Fourth Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Simon Osei Mensah, who says the financial controllers role is critical thus the need for increased collaboration with the MPs.
