Four persons died in an accident at Savietula, on the Dabala-Keta road last Saturday.
The accident occurred when a Sprinter Mercedes bus with registration number GE4346, heading towards Accra from Keta in the Volta Region burst a tyre, somersaulted several times and fell into a ditch.
Three of the victims, according to reports, died on the spot, while the other died while being conveyed to the Keta Government Hospital.
The Anloga District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Akwasi Boakye, who confirmed the incident, said the identities of the four deceased, made up of three men and a woman, were yet to be established.
According to him, 10 people who sustained severe injuries were receiving treatment at the hospital.
Two others have since been treated and discharged.
ASP Boakye said immediately the police received information about the accident, they relayed it to other agencies such as the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Ambulance Service which deployed personnel to the scene to help save lives and restore order.
The bodies of the deceased, he said, had been deposited at the Keta Hospital morgue.
