Springfield Energy , a leading petroleum company in Ghana with business interests in Nigeria and its Chief Executive have commenced legal action against newspapers including the New statesman that have published false stories about the company and its CEO.
The CEO of Springfield is presently on a business trip in Nigeria contrary to vile allegations about his being sought after by the Nigerian government.
The Writ cited by this paper is asking for damages to the tune of 30 million Ghana Cedis from the publishers of the paper.
Springfield Energy is pursuing key international partnerships towards building solid local energy infrastructure for all qualified Ghanaians .
Accordingly, the company is urging newspapers and journalist to imbibe the spirit of verification as a principal approach to the practice of journalism.
Springfield will continue to support the media in its pursuit of freedom of expression and thought towards building a better Ghana.
