The first set of quadruplets from IVF has been successfully delivered by a team of medical experts at the Lapaz community hospital in Accra.
The bouncy set, comprising three boys and a girl, were delivered through a caesarean section by a team of doctors, nurses and other professionals led by Dr Fela Adoboe.
The hospital is credited with several successful IVF deliveries since inception three years ago.
In the last three years of service to the public, several single, twin and triplets have been successfully delivered, crowned by the delivery of a healthy baby boy in June this year by a 55-year- old woman.
The hard working medical team told newsmen in Accra the hospital is committed to bringing relief and happiness to homes where childlessness has threatened the sustenance of marriages and relationships.
The team said old age and poverty should not constitute a barrier to the desire of couples to have their own babies and gave assurance of affordable IVF and other fertility treatment, promising that “several other deliveries of mostly singleton babies are expected this month.”
