The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General and Head of the United Nations Office of West Africa (UNOWA), Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, has urged Ghanaians to ensure that the country comes out peaceful after the December 7 elections.
He said West Africa over the last two years has been relatively successful in elections across the continent and Ghana cannot afford to break the jinx. He is optimistic Ghana’s experience in holding six previous successful elections will brought to bear on this year’s elections.
Dr. Ibn Chambas, a former Member of Parliament and minister of state, made this known on Monday, October 31, when he delivered a special live television message to Ghanaians ahead of the elections.
