The Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, has directed the Joint Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs and Communication to expedite action on the Right to Information (RTI) Bill.
Parliament reconvened yesterday for the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
As quickly as possible
Addressing legislators, Prof. Oquaye told the joint committee to ensure it completed work on the RTI Bill expeditiously and “make a report as quickly as possible in order for us to deliberate thereof”.
He further urged the legislators not to relent on their efforts to curb illegal mining and also work diligently on the other 48 bills scheduled for business during the session.
