The Chairman of the National Media Commission Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh says the fact that Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong brandished the picture of the slain undercover journalist on television, few months before his killing, does not make him culpable.
According to him, it is not appropriate for people to condemn the maverick member of Parliament on the basis that he exposed the identity of the investigative reporter – who worked with celebrated journalist Anas Aremeway Anas.
Ahmed Hussein was shot by gunmen on a motorbike Wednesday night while in his car driving home. He was reportedly shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck.
Anas has confirmed the development on his Facebook wall.
“Sad news, but we shall not be silenced. Rest in peace, Ahmed,” Anas wrote.
Speaking to Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Thursday, the NMC boss said the matter should be looked at in different perspectives.
“You cannot just condemn somebody merely because he exposed the photograph of another person, you must understand the circumstances of where he was also coming from.
“We must learn to look at things from certain perspectives. The fact that the photograph was released was not criminal. That he promised to reward anybody who might accost this gentleman is a different thing from exposing the photograph. What we must appreciate is that there is no right that is totally absolute. The fact that you set out to expose other peoples wrongdoing which is beneficial to society, there may be others who may not support that. What is criminal is to suggest that you would reward people who do what is wrong,” he said.
He added the the Police may invite the MP if they have bases to question him over the killing of the journalist.

You are mad
You might be the next in line for misfortunes and gym., no one will be there to talk or defend you.
Kennedy Agyappong is too kwown man; always bragging about money. Money shall never save you when your time come to depart the earth. One person always causing confusion in NPP. I hate they way you brag with money as if money can buy life. It might be that you know nothing about the killing; but look at where your unnecessary bragging and showing off have landed you.
How abt Anas who sell videos and pictures of ple to international media for his peraonal gains. Nobody has shown my picture to the public bcos i am not involved in anu dirty business. If you dont want to be exposed do not get involved in any dirty business like blaxkmailing ple. Both Anas and Ken must be questioned in my opinion. But this is Ghana, it will not go anywhere. So the family should forget it. There are so many similar deaths that we still font know how the investigations are going. This one will not be an exception. The noise can only be survived for the next one or two weeks.
i think this man is a friend to the MP How on earth can you say that. If he doesnt it looks very insulting when you red it. He should come again and explain further otherwise he should lose his position. The man released the picture for a purpose. The intention behind it was criminal. At that point any civilized society should arrested him for questioning. The Deceased should have also reported him to the police earlier on But in fact Ken should be arrested. If not Ghanaians vote against NPP because you are not safe This a genuine concern
This man must also be picked up for questioning
At last there appears to be a sensible person in Ghana. The NMC chairman has delivered a very mature submission and you have muddaF-u**k£rS on this platform attacking his personality. Why are we so backward in our thoughts and actions in this country koraaaaa? As KK rightly puts in on this platform, "Anas and his team have the right to expose people whilst they cover their faces" and yet they cannot have theirs exposed? When was Ken Agyepong's video premiered? Months ago , i suppose. Do we know what operation the undercover journalist had done immediately before his death? "Who watches the watchman" exposed the nefarious and unethical means Anas and his boys engage in to expose alleged c0r-rup+ people. Let's be serious as a nation for a change. NOW LET'S SEE THE QUACK PASTORS AND TR!CKSTERS TRIP OVER THEMSELVES THAT THEY PROPHESY THIS UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT. Mudda Fu-c*k£r$.
This man talk like a bushhman. Who gave him the chance to speak on this. I wonder sef how he was able to occupy that position. He might be the second prime suspect
This midget is ***barred word***. One day it'll be your turn and your family will be bribed by Ken. ***barred word*** ***barred word***
THIS MAN IS A LAUGHABLE CHAIRMAN AND A MOCKERY TO NMC. HE SHOULD BETTER NOT RIDUCLE HIMSELF BEFORE THE PUBLIC BECAUSE HE SEEMS TO KNOW CLOSE TO NO*THING ON CRIMINAL LAW.
