VICE PRESIDENT Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has hinted that government will in June 2019 cut sod for the construction of a first class terminal at the Tamale International Airport.
The project, according to the Vice President, would uplift the airport into a modern terminal.
The project help the Airport meet all international standard requirements.
He indicated that the President Nana Akufo-Addo was committed to turning Tamale into a world tourist region thereby promoting development and economic growth.
The Vice President assured the people of the Northern Region that the area would witness more infrastructure projects under the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party’s NPP administration.
The Tamale International Airport is expected to be an alternative airport to the Kotoka international airport.
It is expected to have a hajji village, maintenance hub for aircraft and other services of international standards.
