The National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Akamba has expressed dissatisfaction in the Ghana Police Service, indicating that the security service is not operating independently.
According to the outspoken politician, the institution is displaying partiality by not arresting some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who instigate violence hence creating unnecessary tension in the country.
Speaking on Kingdom FM, Joshua Akamba blamed President Akufo-Addo for using the security service as a tool for executive manipulation in furtherance of his political interest and also to enhance his political chances.
“When you have a President who builds every institution around himself, don’t give any trust to that. I don’t trust the Police to do any good job when it comes to reporting. They will not, it is only when order from above is given,” he said.
Expressing disappointments, he stressed that, treasonable comments and statements that warrant police arrest are always disregarded.
“Professionalism in the Police is gone. So reporting a case to the police will always be in vain,” he added.
