Musician and anti-corruption campaigner, Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A Plus, has penned an emotional tribute to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is currently in isolation after a member of his ‘close circles’ tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
A Plus in a lengthy and sarcasm-filled post on Facebook eulogized Nana Akufo-Addo for the impact he’s had on his life.
He chronicled how as a child growing up in the Central Regional town of Gomoa Asebu, he was fixated with anything Akufo-Addo and how the President influenced him.
The controversial musician detailed his first encounter with his ‘idol’ and disclosed Akufo-Addo’s fondness with his works.
According to A Plus, everything he is today is because he was an excellent ‘apprentice’ to his master ‘Akufo-Addo’.
Describing himself as a ‘photocopy of Akufo-Addo’, A Plus disclosed how the president thought him the values of courage and speaking truth to power.
He revealed that, taking cues from the famed ‘Kume Preko’ demonstration which was engineered by Akufo-Addo, he planned a mammoth protest in May this year but that had to be shelved due to the pandemic.
A Plus suggested that since assuming the position of the President of the Republic of Ghana, his ‘idol’ has become a pale shadow of his former self.
He said that the once selfless and patriotic Akufo-Addo has become a ‘hypocrite and dishonest’ politician.
