NDC Deputy Communications Officer, Kwaku Boahene has urged the Police to ensure pedestrians who refuse to use the Madina-Adentan footbridges but instead cross the roads to risk their lives are arrested and face the full rigors of the law.
According to him, the footbridge wasn’t constructed to be used as an exhibition centre, hence any person who refuses to use it must be punished to deter others.
“We should enforce the laws to serve as a deterrent to others because we spent our task payer’s money to build that footbridge.
“It is important to take precautionary measures before an accident may occur. The bridge was not built as an exhibition centre but to save the lives of pedestrians”, he said on UTV’s Adekye Nsroma.
He also advised the vehicle drivers who use the Madina-Adenta roads to slow down their speed.
