The former President of Niger, Mamadou Tandja, has died at the age of 82.
He governed from 1999 to 2010 when he was overthrown in a coup after trying to stay in power beyond a two-term limit.
He was then jailed after being accused of corruption but was released a year later when all charges against him were dropped.
