The Ghana National Gas Company has debunked claims that its outfit is biased and not committed to the implementation of developmental projects in the western region.
This comes at the back of some claims made by Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, the member of parliament for Ellembelle in the western region.
Kofi Buah's Claims
Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, in an interview last week refuted claims by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) that it has pitched many projects in the Western Region.
According to the former Minister for Energy and Petroleum, he, and other MPs (Member of Parliament) in the Nzema area were not against dotting of projects by Ghana National Gas Company across the country but were concerned about the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Company in the seven operating Districts in the Western Region.
Ghana Gas Rebuttal
Reacting to his claims at a press conference in Accra, Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah, the head of corporate affairs at Ghana Gas Company said residents particularly in the Nzema area in the western region have benefitted greatly from the company's operations.
“In terms of social, development and institutional support, Ghana gas has supported district assemblies as well as rehabilitation of primary and secondary schools and also providing educational infrastructure, renovating hospitals, organizing training and giving scholarships in the Axim area and many others”, he disclosed.
He further added that Ghana gas as a state-owned institution remains committed to ensuring that development is paramount in all their corporate social responsibilities to help bring a change in society and improve communities.
