Former President Jerry John Rawlings has expressed sadness at a recent attack on a United Nations Guest House in Kabul, Afghanistan, which killed twelve including a Ghanaian field Officer.
The former President condemned the attack on the UN Guest House, describing it as an attack against humanity. The attack claimed the life of Ghanaian Lawrence Mefful and four of his colleagues. I wish to express my deepest condolences to the families and colleagues of the deceased.
This must be a difficult time for United Nations employees and their families and I pray that they gather enough strength to overcome the sadness that has engulfed their mission, he said.
