Information reaching Peacefmonline.com indicates that the first National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), B.J. Da Rocha is dead.
A family source confirmed the unfortunate piece of information to peacefmonline a short while ago.
He was a founding member of the NPP.
Mr. da Rocha is a Senior Advocate of Ghana, Former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party of Ghana. He was the First Ghanaian Director of Ghana School of Law.
Da Rocha was a founding lecturer at the Ghana Law School when it opened in 1958, and, with the exception of a break from 1969-1975, continued teaching until 1992, when he retired as the first Ghanaian Director of Legal Education.
He was honoured in 1993 by the Ghana Bar Association for his immense contribution to Legal Education and the Legal Profession in Ghana.
Mr. da Rocha was Secretary of the Ghana Bar Association from 1958 to 1966.
