The government is procuring more than eight hundred (800) transformers from India for installation under the ongoing Self-Help-Electrification Project Four (SHEP 4) in various districts of the country.
A team led by the Deputy Minister of Energy Hon. Inusah Fuseini is therefore in India to inspect the transformers before they are shipped to Ghana.
The Energy Minister, Dr. Oteng Agyei, made this known to Parliament following a question by Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim - MP for Offinso North. Hon. Ntim wanted to know measures being taken by the Energy Ministry to complete the SHEP 4 projects in all the one hundred and seventy districts (170).
According to the Minister, government has contracted three local cable and conductor manufactures for the supply of cables and conductors for the remaining installation works of the SHEP 4 projects.
