Alhaji Awudu Karim has been adjudged the 2013 National Best Farmer at the 29th edition of the National Farmers Day celebrations.
The 58-year-old from the Kasena Nankana District of the Upper East region was however not present to pick his award.
As part of his prize, he will receive a three-bedroom house, a pick-up vehicle and a tractor.
Mr. Edward Maxwell Aninkorah and Abdulai Seidu were also adjudged second and third national best farmers respectively.
The first runner-up will take home a tractor and accessories sponsored by the EDIF while the second runner-up would receive a double cabin Pickup donated by Stanbic Bank.
This year�s Farmers' Day celebrations, took place at Sogakope in the Volta Region.
