A 42-year-old man, father of three has drowned in the Lake Bosomtwe at Kuntanase, the capital of the Bosomtwe District.
The deceased, George Kumah, had gone to Abono, the lake-resort, popular with tourists and holiday makers to mourn a colleague driver, who had died.
There, he decided to go swimming in the lake and things went tragic as he got drowned.
Rescuers attempted to save him but the help came a little too late.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Edward Osei, the District Commander, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and said the body had been deposited at the mortuary of the Kuntanase Government Hospital for autopsy.
He said the police did not suspect any foul play.
