Eight Nigerians have been arrested by the Eastern Naval Command, Tema for hijacking a fuel vessel in Nigeria.
The vessel MV Mariam, was carrying about 1500 tonnes of crude oil, at the time the robbers hijacked it on the high seas.
The robbers then turned and entered the territorial waters of Ghana, but the tracking device fixed on the vessel gave them up. Peacefm's Tema Correspondent, Ohene Amponsah, reports that, according to the owner of the vessel, Mr Sunday, his offshore company alerted the Ghanaian Navy Command to be on the look out, leading to the arrest of the eight robbers and the vessel at Tema.
