Ghana faces an influx of refugees from neighbouring Togo following political unrest aimed at deposing President Faure Gnassingbe.
'Weaker' Togolese residents have been urged to move to Ghana, a decision a protester described as "wise" as signals point to another round of protests.
A protest last Saturday left seven dead and 27 protesters including leading members of Togo’s opposition PNP party arrested.
A woman who spoke to Joynews in Lome urged her country men and women to take advantage of the three borders in Burkina to the north, Benin to the East, Ghana to the West to escape to safety if they find the struggle too risky to join.
"If you are not strong and fit, move out of Togo to Ghana...there is no time to waste. Pregnant women and children should all come out of their homes".
"Not everyone can fight this battle," she warned.
The Gnassingbe family has been ruling Togo since 1967 after a coup by Eyadéma.
His son, Faure, was sworn in after he died on February 5, 2005, although the constitution mandates the President of the National Assembly should become acting President. Since then, Faure who is also new chairperson of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has won three presidential elections albeit under controversial circumstances.
His 2015 presidential victory was condemned by observers as replete with irregularities. But the 50-year hold on power has however come under fresh challenge. Political forces resisting President Faure Gnassingbe are not backing down on their demands for the Constitution to be amended to prevent his family’s continued stay in power.
There are reports, opposition parties are united in the push to break up the Gnassingbe political dynasty. They are bent on organising another demonstration Friday, Joy News has learnt.

The government of Ghana should be careful of th I ***barred word***. This is a threat to the country's security Can't they learn from us instead of being ***barred word***. This Eyadema ***barred word*** must stop. Is the country for them? What good has that boy done for Togo? What at all is wrong with these African so called leaders. Can't you see Togo is stagnant? Why can't someone else be allowed to rule the country into prosperity?
Why should they move to Ghana, can any Ghanaian be safe in Togo if there is chaos in Ghana?. We don't need any Togolese eve in Ghana here to come and misbehave and later register and decides who should be our president. We don't need any Togolese here.
They should stay in their country and face the music. We must not allow our country to be a dumping place. Nigerian scammers and kidnappers, Chinese Galamseyers, fulani herdsmen, Togolese voter-impersonators. It is enough! Ghana, strengthen your borders.
Stop them! They will come and get Free SHS, Free JHS, Free Health Insurance and collapse it. Stop it
give us our country and stop the attacks we know why we like NDC. TVT is our country if we don't have gold we like our gali. Where is UN come out and help.
Another ndc constituency. Who are fueling that demonstration from Ghana? Which political party is doing that? And does ndc think this will help them win elections in Ghana? They can't change nothing in Ghana for the ndc to win. They should stop the demonstrations and stay in their country and rather dialogue with the government than listening to the ndc to use violence which Eyadema family will never take. It doesn't make sense for them to die because of somebody's political power. Ndc are evils but we have a living God who will continue to disgrace them. You can cause confusion in Togo just for your own ndc interest but it will never work for you. If that's why you think you will win in 2020 then you lie bad we are more than them. Evil ndc. The Togolese themselves are complaining of a party in Ghana behind this demonstration which they are dying and guess which party? Ndc said they have another constituency in Togo who had to vote in the 2016 and it never worked for them so they are causing confusion in which people are dying and ndc don't care if they will die for them to get power but it will never happen ndc will ever get power again in Ghana . Apuuuuuuuuuu!
