The DCE for Sene West in Bono East region, Hon. John Nyarba has advised farmers at district to stop bush fires, illegal farming, and illigal fishing methods in the quest to boost output.
He announced to farmers that Soya Bean factory is to be revamped to process Soya Beans and so asked them to go into Soya beans production to feed the factory so as to provide jobs to the teeming youth at the area to get income.
He advised the farmers to support Npp government policies on agriculture such as Planting for Food and Jobs and Planting for Export and Rural Development by going into plantation of the selected crops.
He further charged the farmers to see farming as business instead of subsistence farming to feed only their families since government is providing markets for agricultural products through Agri-business development.
In all, 43 farmers were awarded in Sene West district.
The over all Sene West district best farmer, went to Mr.Alhasan Inusah, 45. Mr Inusah commended government for numerous policies and programs to support farmers.
He advised also advised
the youth to go into farming rather than always expecting government to create jobs for them
He was awarded with one tricycle, one spraying machine, four cuttlases, one watering can and a pair of farming boot.
He won the district best farmer with 35 acres of maize farm, 10 acres of yam farm, 15 acres of local rice farm, 7 acres of cashew farm, 40 cattle, 42 sheep and 51 goats.
