Former Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Asawase, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has alleged that the party leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) deliberately reshuffled him as the Minority Chief Whip to remove him from parliament.
According to him, the timing of the leadership change, knowing very well he had a contender, meant there was a deliberate time to unseat him.
Speaking to journalists days after the party’s primaries, Graphic.com.gh quoted him to have said, "I can confidently tell you that it was a deliberate strategy to eliminate me. Any astute politician would acknowledge that it was indeed a ploy to remove me from my position. Avedzi was not contesting, Haruna faced no challengers, and I was the sole candidate with the competition. Thus, the timing of the leadership change was undoubtedly part of the plan to unseat me."
Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak faced a tough contest in the parliamentary primaries with his contender, Masawudu Mubarick.
Despite the intense competition, Muntaka emerged the winner after he polled 1,063 valid votes, while his main contender, Mubarick, trailed behind with 735 votes.

" He who knows much does not speak much" . African proverb. When a hunter shoots at his prey and misses the target, the prey does not come back to the hunter to say well dodge, it simply finds a safe heaven and continue with its life. The most important thing is you wanted to win and you won. Remember the primaries was the group stage. The knock out stage is on 7 December, 2024 where every registered voter will be a delegate so thread with caution. Don't talk too much.
No Isaac, you are rather an unconcerned citizen. If not you would have known that he is not in parliament to represent his party but his constituents. His constituents are made up of party members and non-party members. They kept him there to represent them not the party. MP must not be rubber stamps to do whatever their party leadership tells them even if it goes against the desire of their constituents. Correct your way of thinking.
Shallow-minded thinking. If you had performed your duties as instructed by the party leadership, you wouldn´t be replaced. People should learn to accept change and not to think it is always a deliberate attempt to sabotage one´s person. You are in parliament under the NDC party and nothing else. If you feel you deserve a position befitting your work form a party. People like you are disloyal and must never be trusted. You are ranting on a media network and expect the party to give you a leadership role. Yes! you do not deserve to be in parliament if you ask me. By the way, I don´t belong to any party. I am only a concerned citizen.
