GN Electronics is all set to introduce its products to the Ghanaian market. The company which is a subsidiary of Groupe Nduom is organizing a full day open house/media event to announce to prospective customers what they have on offer. The date is Tuesday, May 24th, 2016.

The company will be displaying its Television Sets and Set Tops (decoders) at the event. These products are assembled in Elmina in the Central Region and are retailed in the West African sub-region.

The programme is being held at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra.

The National Communications Authority has certified three models of the company’s Set Top Boxes (STBs) as wholesome for the local market.

They are the STBs-T2 Free to Air (FTA) model; T2 Conditional Access System (CAS) enabled and Combo S2/T2. The National Communications Authority has also certified the GN Electronics SMART television models, which come in various sizes.

Customers, interested Ghanaians, and other Ghanaian industrial industry players wishing to partake in the special exhibition, will have the opportunity of passing through anytime from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm to come have a feel, see and touchof our top quality products and buy at a good discount.

The media will have the opportunity to let Ghanaians and the outside world know that GN Electronics is assembling top quality electronic products in Elmina in the Central Region.

GN Electronics aims to become the leader in the electronics assembly industry in the West African sub-Region and to become the supplier of choice. GN Electronics is partnering with the best international OEM companies for products and knowledge transfer.

GN Electronics was incorporated in  2015 and started operations in July of the same year when it completed the first unit of its first product line: a Set Top Box. This device, commonly referred to as decoder, is a critical element in the digital migration that is being undertaken by Ghana and several West African countries.

The company is building and developing a strong local industry with the West African market as its prime target. GN Electronics is a Free Zone company, and is engaging potential customers in Liberia, Togo, and other West African countries.

In Ghana, our products are available atMelcom stores, and through GN Logistics, can be made available all over the country when ordered by phone. Also, GN Electronics is partnering with GN Bank for payment options available to all GN Bank customers.

GN Electronics uses Ghanaian manpower, mainly young graduates from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology here in Ghana, and assemblers and operators from the community to underscore its total reliance on local content.

User guides on the boxes are in English, French, and Portuguese to meet the ECOWAS requirements, and Twi, Fante and Ga  for the domestic market.

The long term goal is to design products for the African market and manufacture them. It is to this effect that partnerships with institutions such as KNUST, Ashesi, and others are of critical importance to build the product development skill set.
