The youth of Nandom, under the umbrella of the Nandom Youth and Development Association (NYDA), on Wednesday congratulated Dr. Benjamin Kumbuor on his nomination by President John Atta Mills as Minister of Health.

"We the youth of Nandom wish to congratulate Dr Benjamin Kumbuor for his elevation to the high of office of Minister of Health in the current government," a statement issue in Accra, jointly signed by Gyimah Kuudire and Gordon Wellu, President and Secretary of NYDA respectively, said.

It said NYDA viewed Dr. Kumbuor's elevation as a clear manifestation of his ability and desire to serve the people of Ghana without fear or favour, adding that it came as no surprise to many because even as Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Kumbour's delivery good.

"Your excellent performance is verifiable in the number of visits, talks, seminars and workshops you have undertaken across the length and breadth of the nation within the few months you have been in that office."

The statement said the youth of Nandom did not have the slightest doubt that Dr. Kumbuor would continue to work hard in his new position to make health care more affordable and accessible to Ghanaians, especially the rural folk.

It said while congratulating Dr Kumbuor, "we also salute His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills for the confidence reposed in the minister-designate and for recognizing him as an indefatigable team player in the current administration.

"It is our belief that Dr Kumbuor would not disappoint the President by his works and deeds in the Ministry of Health but would work assiduously to contribute to achieving the Better Ghana on which objective the NDC came to power," it said.
