The Office of former President, Jerry John Rawlings has learnt that one Gyapong-Kudzo, who is vying for the position of Regional Chairman of the NDC in the Volta Region, is misinforming delegates that he has the endorsement of the former First Couple.
The office will like to state categorically that the aforementioned is totally false. The former President and his wife have no plans of endorsing someone who was involved in attempted subversion of the PNDC government alongside Lance Corporal Halidu Giwa.
A statement issued by the office of the former president also noted that Kudzo has also flirted with the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) in its attempts to undermine the victory of Professor Mills.
According to the statement, he teamed up with members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and other parties to campaign against the current president and the member of parliament of his constituency after he had lost the primaries and as such, the former President cannot support such a traitor to the party.
Former President Rawlings and his wife disassociate themselves totally from the candidacy of Gyapong-Kudzo, the statement, signed by Kofi Adams the ex-presidents spokesman, added.
