The Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere, Dan Kweku Botwe, says nobody should draw parallels between Ghanas team B Black Stars and team B ministers. According to him, drawing such a comparison would be dangerous for the well being of the country and its citizens.
The MP, who was speaking on Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana Wednesday, said he had heard people say that if team B Black Stars were able to take the nation as far as the finals in the just ended 2010 African Cup of Nations held in Angola, then the Team B ministers of the ruling Mills administration can also take the country far.
Holding a contrary view, Mr Dan Botwe said that football has its own dynamics and therefore it would be imprudent for anyone to import such a concept in a totally different field into the affairs of running a government.
He adviced members of the Mills government to desist from seeking solace in such an unguarded claim and instead ensure that real Team A ministers are appointed to work for the nation.
People should not seek solace in the fact that because Team B Stars reached very far Team B management of the economy too can take us far. Lets not draw such parallels, he cautioned.
The NPP MP however praised the Black Stars for displaying lots of determination which resulted in the first qualification of the senior national team for the finals of the Nations Cup since 1992.
