The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has cleared outgoing presidential spokesperson Mahama Ayariga of any wrongdoing in his controversial acquisition of some tractors last year.
CHRAJ Commissioner Emile Short said the commission has examined all documents from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) on the case and has found no evidence to substantiate allegations that Mr Ayariga underpaid for the tractors.
Mr Short was speaking on the Super Morning Show. This comes amid protest by pressure group Progressive Nationalist Forum (PNF) against Mr Ayarigas nomination. The group has already petitioned the Appointment Committee of Parliament to drop Mr Ayariga. The group claims it has evidence to show Mr Ayariga abused his office in the acquisition of tractors last year.
